BYL's Coaching through the Application Process program can begin as early as the summer before your student's junior year or as late as your student's senior fall. No matter where your student is in their college application process, BYL will assist your student in selecting their schools (safety, target and reach), writing their essays (common core and supplementals) and making their final decision.
Coaching through the Application Process will also help your student with their academics, and find ways to enhance their application through extracurricular activities, leadership, community service, work experience and more. And BYL will help you by keeping you on track with the FAFSA and the CSS Profile, scheduling college visits, as well as tricks to keeping your student motived through graduation.
The decision has been made. Come August, as a newly minted High School graduate, you will be experiencing your first taste of true independence. You have baby stepped your way here, maybe through summers at sleep away camp, getting your divers license, or even testing your level of maturity on a trip for senior week. But this is different: you are on your own, making decisions with a higher level of responsibility, managing money, managing relationships, juggling classes and more.
In this summer series, we will spend our weeks discussing several hypotheticals each week from common fears to dealing with roommates to peer pressure; independent living, food choices, and cleaning; time management; career paths for potential majors; how to get involved on campus and off; and managing money. Let's get you ready!
BYL's Freshman Year and Beyond program provides support for your college student throughout the school year. Weekly 30 minute calls keep our BYL college students on track, discussing organizational systems, creating goals, increasing focus, achieving balance, prioritizing personal needs and more. I am available to my students via email and text between sessions should the need arise.
Students may opt to continue into the summer and throughout their college career. Bi-monthly programs are also available.
Our job as parents is to give our children roots and wings: "roots to know where home is, and wings to fly off and practice what has been taught them". In our BYL Parents of New College Students sessions, we will work together to shift your perspective from protecting your teen to allowing them to become a resilient young adult. We will discuss boundaries, risky behavior, improved communication, meaningful conversation, and more.
Each session, you will bring real life scenarios to discuss, and you will leave with a plan to achieve your desired outcome.

Thank you for taking the time to answer this brief Beyond Your Limits Questionnaire for Teens, College Students and Parents. Please answer all questions that are applicable to you (i.e. teenager and high school senior). It will help me develop future content for the BYL Blog and, hopefully, Podcast. I will not share your name or other information, if provided.
